K-12th grade Youth & Teen Programming

In addition to our IGlow© SEL Foundational Curriculum, Glowmundo supports students during critical transition years is an essential component of their resilience and future success. We offer curricular resources for each transition into and out of elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as a curriculum for “Newcomer” adolescents who are starting school in the United States from another culture, country, and language.


 

Children’s Programming

  • This training is for K-2nd and 3rd-5th graders.

    I Glow© empowers children with a positive sense of self and internal safety, as well as the strategies needed to skillfully navigate their thoughts and emotions so that they are better able to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of adversities.

    It is grounded in CASEL’s five core SEL competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Teachers receive weekly coaching throughout the school year on effective implementation methods.

  • This training is for 5th and 6th graders

    Provides tools that help students and parents cope and thrive as they navigate the profound shift that comes with completing this stage of childhood and schooling and preparing for the academic, physiological, social, and emotional challenges of adolescence and middle school.

Preteen & Teen Programming

  • This program is for 6th and 7th graders

    Strengthens individual identity while fostering meaningful new relationships across social divides. It promotes a culture of kindness and emotional and social competence that can mitigate the slide into incivility, insecurity, and the lure of risk common to the middle school years.

  • This program is for 9th and 10th graders

    Designed to build community, promote identity definition and resilience, and take students on an inward exploration of meaning and self-awareness, offering a healthy process for navigating transitions.

  • This program is for 12th-graders

    A school-based approach to rites-of-passage designed to help students navigate the major transition at the completion of high school, which is often characterized by both deep anxiety and exquisite awakening.

  • Lead your Way, by Glowmundo, is a positive youth development program designed for the teen years founded on social-emotional learning and neuroscience and presented with a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens. The program is delivered in 6 modules of 75 minutes. It can be adapted to fit school schedules and customized for teen parents as well.

    Modules:

    (1) Getting to Know Myself: Self-Awareness: Strengths, Challenges, triggers

    (2) Social Emotional Awareness: Self-management, Self-talk, empathy

    (3) Resiliency (Bouncing back after challenges, healthy coping mechanisms): Healthy stress coping strategies, Self-compassion, Healthy boundaries

Newcomers Transition Curriculum

(All ages)

Serves students who are recent immigrants, a population at especially high risk for alienation from school, school failure, and self-destructive behaviors. This curriculum offers students the opportunity to honor the people, lands, cultures, and personal identities they have left behind; reclaim and integrate aspects of their past; and become empowered to move with strength and confidence as they transition into a new school, culture, and country.
