WHAT WE DO

Our Main Premise
Every thought and every action generate an outcome, these outcomes then generate more thoughts and more actions, and so on. The quality of my thoughts and my actions influence the quality of my life. Consequently, what I experience is a result of what I think, say and do.  In other words, I create what I want to experience by consciously choosing what and how I think, say and do.

What About Resilience?

Methods used through our programming include: development of positive self-talk, guided imagery, visualization, deep breathing techniques, yoga practice, journaling, rhythm and movement, Body Talk practices, and creative expression.  Glowmundo delivers content to children, parents, teachers and caregivers.

Why Glow?

When we glow we are in a state of joy as our minds and hearts align with focused attention and a relaxed, yet engaged, body. It is the state that provides a respite from pain and suffering. Studies have shown that when mothers in refugee camps are encouraged to play with their infants, the infants thrive, gaining more weight on the same amount of calories as infants who do not enjoy play. And by playing with their infants, mothers avoid depression. Joy—like the other core emotions of sadness, anger and fear—is linked to the preservation of life.

Joy (glow) then becomes a choice, resulting from a focused mind, an engaged body and a willful heart. This can be taught and Glowmundo does so.

What you can expect for the children who have experienced Glowmundo

We do this through Programs, Conscious Media and Consulting.

We build resilience skills in inner city children, delivered in a variety of formats such as enrichment programs and diversified conscious media tools including visual media, music, publishing, internet and technology, both in English and Spanish.
Resilience refers to the capacity of an individual to cope with stress, overcome adversity or adapt positively to change. The ability to ‘bounce back’ from negative experiences may reflect the innate qualities of individuals or be the result of learning and experience. Despite our best efforts, we cannot prevent adversity and daily stress; but we can learn to be more resilient by changing how we think about challenges and adversities.
